Tucker Carlson went after Ilhan Omar last night for some of her more indelicate comments about her adopted home America.
Look, America is by far the most generous nation ever on this planet. No one is even close.
Omar, while having the right to say what she wants, should realize this before she trashes her adopted country.
America is far from perfect but only in this country could Omar’s story happened. To remind Ilhan, she was a refugee and we took her in.
We helped feed and educate Omar and her family and under our freedoms, she rose in a short time from refugee to a member of Congress.
Show some respect, Ilhan. From The Washington Examiner:
Rep. Ilhan Omar called for advertisers to boycott Fox News host Tucker Carlson after he offered her as an example of why the U.S. immigration system is dangerous.
“Fox News is now giving a nightly platform to white supremacist rhetoric. It’s dangerous. Advertisers should not be underwriting hate speech,” the Minnesota Democrat said Wednesday on Twitter.
Omar said in another tweet on Tuesday that Carlson was a “racist fool.”
“Not gonna lie, it’s kinda fun watching a racist fool like this weeping about my presence in Congress,” the freshman congresswoman said. “No lies will stamp out my love for this country or my resolve to make our union more perfect.”
Carlson said on his show Tuesday that America should “be grateful for Ilhan Omar” because she has demonstrated the flaws of the country’s immigration system.
The host pointed to a Washington Post piece where Omar slammed America as a “country that had failed” to live up to its promise.
“In Omar’s version, America wasn’t the bighearted country that saved her from a brutal war and a bleak refugee camp. It wasn’t a meritocracy that helped her attend college or vaulted her into Congress. Instead, it was the country that had failed to live up to its founding ideals, a place that had disappointed her and so many immigrants, refugees and minorities like her,” the piece stated.
In 2017, Omar wrote a piece for Time in which she claimed America was ” founded on genocide.”
“Omar isn’t ‘disappointed’ in America. She’s enraged by it. Virtually every public statement she makes accuses America of bigotry and racism. This is an immoral country, she says. She has undisguised contempt for the United States and for its people. That should worry you, and not just because Omar is now a sitting member of Congress. Omar is living proof that that the way we practice immigration has become dangerous to this country,” Carlson said.
